Based in Bournemouth, we travel up to 45 mins from our H.Q. in Bournemouth, so Please check that your area is located in our catchment before getting in touch! For a visit of 2 hours or more, we will travel up to an hour.
The Creature Teachers started creature encounters in 2011! We are fully insured, risk assessed, licensed and inspected.
It’s never too early to get in touch about a visit. We book up quite far in advance, particularly weekend dates. We do occasionally have slots become available at the last minute, so drop us a line!
The Creature Teachers is owned & operated by Lisa Kiely and a small team of hand picked Creature Teachers. Lisa completed a degree in Zoology, and a Masters in Animal Behaviour before going on to work in zoo education and animal displays in the U.K. and Ireland. Lisa’s job has been introducing animals to people for nearly 20 years! The Creature Teachers draws on all that experience & knowledge, bringing a range of exotic and domestic animals to schools, nursing homes, nurseries, birthday parties, youth groups, S.E.N. groups, fairs & fetes, weddings and many other events.
The Creature Teachers team includes staff with years of zoo education and animal presenting experience, animal care, behaviour and zoology qualifications, child care qualifications, extensive Early Years and care sector experience, and connections with the autism and S.E.N. communities.
We promote responsible and respectful animal handling, and our encounters ‘one on one’ approach encourages everyone to get hands on with our creature team in a way that is safe and comfortable for handlers and animals alike. We want everyone at your encounter to make a real connection with our team of creepy crawly, scaly reptile, amphibian, furry and feathered creatures, in a way that encourages our discovery and learning ethos, furthering our audiences' enthusiasm, admiration and respect for the natural world, while being exciting & engaging for everyone we meet.

This A5, hardback, full colour book holds lots of weird and wonderful creature facts, tasks to solve and stickers to add to each completed section! Animal drawings are by local artist Vic Jubb!
£10 each, with free delivery to the BCP area. £2.50 postage to the rest of the U.K.
£40 for a doorstep delivery locally with Echo the barn owl, price includes the book.
Or £30 includes a videocall with 3 of the creatures for those farther afield!
